Care of Your Feagau Jewelry
You should always remove your jewelry before going to bed or participating in exercise or similar activities. Prevent your jewelry from contact with chlorine or salt water, because they will dull the jewelry. Freshwater pearls must only be cleaned with a soft brush or a cloth. To clean your jewelry, pour a small quantity of mild soap into lukewarm water and use a soft brush, a soft toothbrush is ideal. if dirt has hardened, soak the jewelry in clean water for an hour or two then brush. This cleaning method should not be used to clean jewelry with freshwater pearls. A silver polishing cloth works well to make your silver jewelry shine again if the pieces have become dull. However, it will not remove scratches. Silver-polishing cloths can usually be obtained from your local jeweler.
Store Your Feagau Jewelry
Jewelry should be stored away from sunlight and heat in a protective, lined jeweler box or a tarnish-resistant pouch. It can also be stored in a plastic zip lock bag made of Mylar or polyethylene. Never use polyvinyl plastic bags, like trash can liners because they contain sulfur compounds that are harmful to silver. Don't use rubber containers because they will make sterling silver tarnish much faster and can turn sterling silver black. Also, do not store your jewelry in the bathroom, it can be affected by the high humidity from showers and bath tubs.
